Estazolam is a benzodiazepine (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peen). Estazolam affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause sleep problems (insomnia).

Estazolam is used to treat insomnia symptoms, such as trouble falling or staying asleep.
