Norvasc (amlodipine)

It is a derivative of amlodipine which is a calcium channel blocker. It is used to treat high blood pressure in clinical setting which requires medical supervision. Norvasc, or also known as amlodipine is also used to prevent chest pains. The chest pain also known as Angina which is very common for adults aged 45 and above.

Numerous antihypertensive drugs, from a diversity of pharmacologic classes and with different mechanisms of action, have been clinically shown in researches and clinical trials to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, and it can be concluded that it is blood pressure reduction. The largest and most consistent cardiovascular outcome benefit has been a reduction in the risk of stroke, but cutback in myocardial infarction and cardiovascular mortality also have been seen frequently.
