Mebendazole is an anthelmintic (an-thel-MIN-tik) or anti-worm medication. It prevents newly hatched insect larvae (worms) from growing or multiplying in your body.
Mebendazole is used to treat infections caused by worms such as whipworm, pinworm, roundworm, and hookworm. It is also used to treat infections caused by more than one of these worms at the same time.
skin rash or itching
sore throat and fever
unusual tiredness and weakness
Some of the side effects that can occur with mebendazole may not need medical attention. As your body adjusts to the medicine during treatment these side effects may go away. Your health care professional may also be able to tell you about ways to reduce or prevent some of these side effects. Abdominal or stomach pain or upset
nausea or vomiting
(oral tablet, chewable, compounding powder)
