Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); black, tarry stools; nausea; slow reflexes; vomit that looks like coffee grounds.
Take Mag-Ox by mouth with food. If you also take a bisphosphonate (eg, alendronic acid), digoxin, a quinolone (eg, ciprofloxacin), or a tetracycline (eg, doxycycline), do not take them within 2 to 4 hours before or after taking Mag-Ox. Check with your doctor if you have questions. If you miss a dose of Mag-Ox and are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
