Denavir may be a cream containing antiviral medication.
Denavir is employed locally for the treatment of repeated cold sores on the lips and face, related to the herpes simplex virus. It works by preventing the herpes simplex virus from growing and may begin applied at the primary hint of a developing herpes labialis.

Serious side effects have not been reported with the use of Denavir.
Other less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to use this medication and talk to your doctor if you experience:
local numbness or tingling where the cream is applied;
changes in taste;
irritation at the application site.
DENAVIR should be applied every 2 hours during waking hours for a period of 4 days. Treatment should be started as early as possible (i.e., during the prodrome or when lesions appear).
