Dalvance (dalbavancin) is an antibiotic that fights bacteria.
Dalvance is used to treat severe skin infections caused by bacteria.
To reduce the development of bacteria resistant to Dalvance and other antibacterial agents, this medicine should be used only to treat infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria.
Less common or rare
Abdominal or stomach pain or tenderness
black, tarry stools
blood in the urine or stools
chest pain or tightness
clay colored stools
feeling of warmth
hives, welts, itching, or rash
loss of appetite
painful or difficult urination
pinpoint red spots on the skin
puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
redness of the skin
severe abdominal or stomach cramps and pain
sore mouth or tongue
sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
swelling of the feet or lower legs
tightness in the chest
troubled breathing with exertion
unusual bleeding or bruising
unusual tiredness or weakness
vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
watery and severe diarrhea, which may also be bloody
yellow eyes or skin
Some of the side effects that can occur with dalbavancin may not need medical attention. As your body adjusts to the medicine during treatment these side effects may go away. Your health care professional may also be able to tell you about ways to reduce or prevent some of these side effects. Treating certain bacterial infections. It may be used in combination with other medicines to treat acne or certain amoeba infections. It may be used to prevent certain types of malaria in travelers who will be visiting malaria-infected areas for less than 4 months. It may also be used to prevent or slow the progression of anthrax after exposure. Doryx delayed-release capsules are a tetracycline antibiotic. It works by slowing the growth of bacteria. Slowing the bacteria's growth allows the body's immune system to destroy the bacteria.
